<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fine metallic soap particles which have a very minute particle size, narrow particle size distribution and a low content of large size particles, a simple and efficient preparation process therefor, a toner comprising the fine metallic soap particles, and a cleaning assistant for image recording devices, particularly electrophotographic copying machines. SOLUTION: Fine metallic soap particles which have an average particle size of <4μm upon production of the fine particles and contain particles of >10μm in an amount of 4 wt.% or less based on the total particles. In the production of the particles, an aqueous solution (a) containing 0.001-20 wt.% of a 4-30C fatty acid alkali metal salt or ammonium salt is mixed with an aqueous solution or dispersion (b) containing 0.001-20 wt.% of an inorganic metallic salt at a temperature below the crystal transition initiation temperature of the produced metallic soap to prepare a metallic soap slurry, which is then dried at a temperature below the crystal transition initiation temperature of the metallic soap.</p> |
