<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the active matrix type liquid crystal display device which can drive respective pixels with a smaller number of data lines than usual. SOLUTION: On a substrate, data lines Dj-2, Dj... and gate lines GAi, GBi... are provided in matrix form, TFTs(thin film transistors) and pixel electrodes are provided on both the sides of the respective data lines corresponding to the gate lines, and the gate lines are so arranged that the pixel electrodes on both the sides of the data lines are controlled with signals from one of 1st and 2nd gate lines arranged across those pixel electrodes. Further, gate electrodes constituting the TFTs are composed of gate lines themselves and the drain electrodes connected electrically to the pixel electrodes extend across the gate electrodes.</p> |
