PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and simplify an apparatus. SOLUTION: In a radioactivity measuring apparatus, the radioactivity amount at the inside of a cylindrical drum 11 in which radioactive wastes are housed is measured, or a radiation which is discharged from the drum 11 is measured. In the radioactivity measuring apparatus, a rotating support base 12 which supports the drum 11 in a set position and which turns the drum 11 around its axial line is provided, a radiation detector 14 which is arranged by keeping a prescribed interval from the drum 11 and which detects the radiation is provided, a movement mechanism part 13 by which the radiation detector 14 is moved along the axial-line direction of the drum 11 is provided, and a radioactivity measuring means 15 and a radioactivity measuring means 16 which process an output of the radiation detector 14 and which compute the radioactivity amount at the inside of the drum 11 are provided.
