Slinding vane rotary combustion chamber engine. Vanes (12) are actuated by trunnions (13.1) running in lift (24.1) and retract cams (24.2). Volume between vanes (12), end plates (24) and rotor (11) varied by profile on stator (21) inside surface (21.1). Knock-free, low emission and complete combustion ensured at high compression ratio by suitable combustion chamber (11.1) geometry. Low volume quench zones enable high combustion efficiency. Seal lubrication in combustion zones made possible by local cooling and inter-seal flushing: the oil layer on the stator (21) inner surfaces (21.1) is constantly swept into oil exhaust passages in the vanes (12) thence to cool and cool oil constantly laid down on the stator inner surfaces (21.1). Vanes (12) themselves are oil cooled.
