Hand held unit for childbirth contraction frequency monitoring

The hand held unit (1) has a pressure sensor that is placed against the skin of the expectant mother and detects contractions. The signals are fed to a built in processor and the frequency indicated on a display (2). A comparison with reference data is made and the point at which a medical practitioner is involved is indicated.
