The invention relates to an ignition-starter switch (10) comprising a rotatable component (12), a fixed component (16) and switching devices (30, 32) which are actuated when the rotatable component is turned. In addition, a restoring device (34, 36, 38, 40, 42) is provided which is connected to a control unit (44). Said restoring device exerts restoring forces on the rotatable component (12) according to the functional states of the control unit (44). In this manner, the rotatable component can be immediately turned, for example, after the key is inserted without the risk of catching or without damaging the ignition-starter switch due to large forces. Time can also be saved when the rotary switch is brought into operation. In addition, the restoring forces transmitted by the restoring device supply a haptic feedback of the ignition-starter switch with regard to the functional state.
