PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new transgenic or chimeric animal heaving cells in which the genome of a cell contains a heterologous DNA (an insertion DNA) and the insertion DNA is made to become functional or the function is made to become more effective, by combining with an intrinsic gene containing a complementary DNA. SOLUTION: This transgenic or chimeric animal having cells in which the genome of a cell contains a heterologous DNA (an insertion DNA) consisting of the whole or the part of a gene and the insertion DNA is located in the genome in such a way that the insertion DNA (or its complementary DNA) is made to become functional or the function is made to become more effective by combining with a complementary DNA included in an intrinsic gene (or a receptor gene) containing a complementary DNA. When making the transgenic animal, the exogenote can be site-specifically integrated so as not to inactivate the intrinsic cell gene, and the intrinsic gene can be deliberately inactivated. |
