PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet from being returned too much due to a change of contact area of a paddle for an uppermost sheet on a staple tray. SOLUTION: These devices have a staple tray 12 temporarily loading a sheet P, a pair of upstream discharge rollers 16 discharging the sheet P to the staple tray 12 and a paddle 31 drawing the sheet P discharged on the staple tray 12 in the direction opposite to a discharging direction. In the paddle 31, contact pressure of the paddle 31 for the uppermost sheet P discharged on the staple tray 12 is kept substantially constant.
