The invention relates to a method, a device and the use of a device for producing a support material having chain molecules synthesized in synthesis fields, especially oligonucleotides which are complementary to segments of carriers of genetic information. According to the invention, after a synthesis run for synthesizing chain molecules (21) in a sequence of synthesis fields (1 to 16), at least one additional synthesis run is carried out, during which chain elements (n4 to n15) of one base-type sequence are linked to the chain molecules (21) synthesized during the preceding synthesis run or during each preceding synthesis run and comprising other chain elements (N1 to N12; N9 to N17) of another base-type sequence. The delivery of chain elements (N1 to N17; n4 to n15) to the synthesis fields (1 to 16) in the synthesis runs corresponds to the predetermined succession of chain elements (N1 to N17; n4 to n15) in the chain molecules (21) to be synthesized. The groups of synthesis fields (27) assigned to synthesis regions (1 to 16) are during each synthesis cycle displaced by one synthesis field (1 to 16), always moving in the same direction. In this way it is possible efficiently to synthesize, for example, chain molecules (21) which are complementary to at least parts of segments (20) of carriers of genetic information, with groups of chain elements (N1 to N17; n4 to n15) so as to obtain different base-type sequences. |
