PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of partial wear at a tire shoulder part without worsening riding comfort. SOLUTION: The groove area ratio of a tread part differs between both side tread parts with a tire equator line (X-X) placed in between, and the groove area of one side tread part positioned on the outside 3 of a vehicle at the time of mounting a tire is smaller than the groove area of the other side tread part positioned on the inside of the vehicle. In a pneumatic radial tire provided with such an asymmetric tread pattern, a belt reinforcing ply 6 covering the end of a belt layer 5 is arranged at the end of the belt layer 5, but this belt end reinforcing ply 6 is arranged only at the end 5a of the belt layer 5 positioned on the outside of the vehicle at the time of mounting the tire. |
