A carbonaceous char is provided having reduced inherent carbon catalytic reactivity for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and for other materials susceptible to catalytic chemical conversion. The reduced catalytic activity provided by such chars is largely irreversible upon high-temperature thermal treatment of the char. |
