The invention relates to a device for improving heat insulation in windows, whereby the window frames (1) are fitted on the outer side with a shell structure (5) made of weather-resistant material forming an interstitial space (17). The side of said shell structure opposite to the masonry is bent towards the window-pane (3) and ends in a permanently elastic seal (10), which is placed on the glass panel (3), whereby the interstitial space is filled with a heat insulating material. The inventive device makes it possible to obtain a heat transfer coefficient of less than 1 in the entire window.
