The hot-rolling roll stands (3) have a unit (4) for programmed temperature control of the strip (B) by heating and/or cooling followed at least once by maintenance of a constant temperature, and concluded by cooling. The strip is brought to desired first temperature within a predetermined time; it is maintained at this temperature for a predetermined time; and is brought to a desired final temperature within a predetermined time.
