Process for protecting wood from fungal attack comprises applying a fungicidal amt. of N-(2-fluoro-1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethylthio)-N-phenyl-methanesulphon- amide (I) onto or into the wood. (I) is esp. useful for protecting timber (and also wood chips, e.g. for prodn. of mechanical pulp or chipboard) from wet and dry rot. It is active against fungi of the order Aphyllophorales and Agaricales, including the families Polyporaceae and Tricholomataceae. |
