METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STABILIZATION OF A TRAVELLING MOTOR

A method for stabilizing motor vehicle, whereby only the brake pressure of the wheels on the rear axle can be adjusted. The inventive method consists in identifying a driving condition involving oversteering or understeering when braking occurs during cornering, whereby at least the brake pressure of one of the wheels on the rear axle is affected by a counteracting moment which is generated when said condition is recognized. The invention also relates to a device for stabilizing a travelling motor vehicle, comprising a brake-pressure regulator system for the wheels on the rear axle only, a recognition system (101) for identifying a driving condition involving oversteering or understeering when braking occurs during cornering, and a generating system (102) which generates a counteracting moment affecting at least the brake pressure of one of the wheels on the rear axle when said condition is recognized.
