The piston pump (10) is a step piston pump system with the piston (34) as a deep drawn tube from sheet material. It has a beading (36) which extends radially outwards, formed by an axial compression on the piston (34). The beading (36) forms an axial laying surface for a guide ring (54) placed over the piston (34) and a sealing ring (56). A disk-shaped and wear-resistant running piece (46) is pressed into an open end of the of the tubular piston (34), to ride against the surface of an eccentric (52) of the stroke drive.
