CAN BODIES

A cylindrical can body having a pattern of regular panels (4) which are shaped so that a label adheres readily to the can body. Each panel has a boundary (7, 8) and central portion (9), both of which lie on the cylindrical envelope of the can wall (1) and a recessed intermediate portion (10). The panels have a perimeter which is typically chosen for increased can performance, for example hexagonal.
