PURPOSE:To make the quality of print high by dividing image data of one line into plural sublimes and correcting the data by a converting means for resolution, etc. CONSTITUTION:One line of image data is written in a line buffer 2 and read out repeatedly plural times by the converting means 4a for resolution, etc.; and the image data which are divided into plural sublines are processed by resolution conversion and enlargement or reduction and supplied to a line head 5. The subline data after being stored in a shift register 6 are transferred to a line buffer 7 and a light emission part 8 is controlled according to the image data to illuminate. At this time, resolution conversion in a main scanning direction generates variation in subline units by making sample positions different at the time of subline image data generation to suppress the generation of halftone moire, and thicking/thinning connection controls the illumination of the light emission part 8 of a line head 5 to form pixels of proper size. |
