IMAGE CODING DATA PROCESSING UNIT AND IMAGE CODING DATA PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired promotion channel by processing a stream of coded data of a promotion channel. SOLUTION: Coded data are given to a header detection circuit 2 that discriminates to which reduced image area each slice layer belongs. A demultiplexer stores the coded data for each reduced image area to buffers 5a, 5b,.... A read control circuit 8 controls a multiplexer 7 to read the coded data from the buffers 5a, 5b,... in the order based on a user operation. Thus, the coded data to display the desired reduced image on a desired reduced image area are obtained.
