PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a CPU from being erroneously mounted by acquiring the resource information of a memory or of a communicable engine and discriminating and displaying erroneous mounting states of the CPU to be mounted by collating that resource information with the identification information of the CPU to be identified. SOLUTION: Erroneous mounting of a CPU 102 to be mounted is discriminated by collating the resource information of a built-in font ROM 105 with the identification information of the CPU 102. In this case, the mounted CPU 102 executes a control program stored in a program ROM 104 or in an extension ROM 109 and discriminates the mounting state by itself. Then, the discrimination result is displayed on a display part 106. Therefore, when controlling plural types of CPUs through one type of program ROM 104 while using CPUs compatible but of different types, the type of the font ROM 105 is discriminated for each type, and it can be discriminated whether the correct CPU 102 is mounted or not, and erroneous mounting of a CPU compatible but of a different type is clearly shown for a user. |
