PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in sharpness. SOLUTION: This heat developable photosensitive material has a photosensitive emulsion layer containing a nonphotosensitive org. silver salt, reducing agent and photosensitive silver halide particles. The volume of the photosensitive layer and photosensitive silver halide particles satisfy the following condition. The condition is that the divided value of the volume of the photosensitive layer by the number of photosensitive silver particles included in the photosensitive layer (which means the average volume possessed by one silver halide particle) ranges >=0.005μm<3> and <=0.1μm<3> .
