OPTICAL PICKUP PROVIDED WITH CATA-DIOPTORIC OBJECTIVE LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup in which a light transmitting/receiving part is constituted integrally with a cata-dioptric objective lens. SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with a unit 20 for allowing laser light to exit to a storage medium 40 and detecting reflected light front the medium 40, a 1st reflection area 30-1 for reflecting light from the unit 20, a converging area for converging incident light from the unit 20 into an optical spot, and a 2nd reflection area 30-2 for reflecting reflected light from the area 30-1 to the converging area, the 1st reflection area 30-1 and the converging area form the 1st face of a cata-dioptoric objective lens 30 arranged on the storage medium side and the 2nd reflection area 30-2 includes a part of the 2nd face of the lens 30 arranged on the unit side.
