The machine has a computerized controller enabling symbol combinations indicating a win or a loss to be displayed using a symbol play arrangement (1) with roller bodies behind read-out windows (4). A result achieved in the symbol play arrangement is offered as a prize or accumulated in at least one additional win play arrangements consisting of several individual win display elements. Wins of certain value achieved in the symbol play arrangement by symbol combinations of definable type during a special play sequence are transferred into one of several chance play arrangements (39-41) and subjected to chance in predefined stages of the chance play arrangements. If chance fields (42-44) are occupied during special plays these are offered as prizes one or more times depending on value and can thereby be converted into another type of special play, whereby the wins achieved are added.
