A wheel cover for vehicles comprises a formed textile sheet and a polymeric frame to absorb road and water spray noise. A wheel cover (4) for vehicles to reduce the transmission of water spray noise into the interior of the vehicle and to reduce the transmission of rolling noise of a tire (3) on the road surface (5), is formed of plastic and is fixed into the wheel arch (2) of the vehicle (1). A first sheet (11) of the part (4) consists of an acoustically effective thermoplastic polymeric material and the second sheet (12) of part (4) consists of a textile material and exhibits a carpet like surface, whereby (11) and (12) extend over the entire thickness without over covering and are strongly bound to each other around the edge such that part (4) is an integral whole. An Independent claim is included for a process for the production of (4) by placing the textile part (12) into an open mold and injection molding the thermoplastic polymer to form (11) around the edge of (12) such that they are firmly bound to each other.
