PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a light source composed of semiconductor layers on a phosphor substrate by, particularly, reducing the chromatic dispersion and making the size of the light source reducible. SOLUTION: In a light emitting device 1, the light source 2 of which is formed of semiconductor layers on a phosphor substrate 11, the light from the light source 2 excites an activator in the substrate 11 and the light emitted form the activator is emitted from the substrate 11 in such a way that only the light is emitted or the light is mixed with the light from the light source 2 and the mixed light is emitted as white light, etc. |
