<p>A method and apparatus for making a container lug lid which minimizes scrap waste is described. The blanks (50) for forming container lug lids (10) therefrom comprise an odd number of dissimilar lugs (40) with one or more of the lugs comprising a male lug. Circumferential bases (48) are formed between each lug, with one or more of the circumferential bases having a female complementary shape (51) for receiving a male lug (88) of an adjacent blank. The blank pattern for cutting the blanks from a sheet of material comprises arranging the blanks in a closely spaced arrangement with the male lugs positioned for alignment with an adjacent female or complementary shaped circumferential base.</p> |
