The temperature of the solvent storage vessel (2) is kept within a specific range at a temperature greater than that of the collection vessel (3) for the mixture of solvent and contaminants, also within a specific range. A method for separating substances from a solution thereof in a solvent utilizes a vapor pipe system (1) connected to a storage vessel for the solution, a collection vessel and a vapor circulating means (4), e.g. pump. Temperature control means are used to maintain the collection vessel at a lower temperature than the storage vessel, namely at a storage vessel temperature of ca. 15-45 degrees C, preferably at the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere, and a collection vessel temperature at -40 to -5 (ca. -30) degrees C. A circulating flow of vapor containing at least the most volatile solution component is separated in the collection vessel.
