PURPOSE:To prevent an operator from opening the shutter of a cartridge by mistake by locking a shutter and releasing the lock of the projection of a toner tank shutter by the claw of a cartridge case. CONSTITUTION:The cartridge case 2 has the claw, which catches the projecting part of the shutter 3, so that the shutter 3 is locked to the case 2. The operator is prevented from sliding the shutter 3 as shown by an arrow A by a mistake. When the toner cartridge 5 is installed on the toner tank cover 6, the projecting part of the toner tank shutter 7 thrusts the claw of the case 2 upward to release the lock of the shutter 3. When toner is supplied, the shutter 7 is slid as shown by an arrow and then the projecting part of the shutter 7 catches the shutter 3, so the shutter 7 and shutter 3 operate associatively. The shutters 7 and 3 are returned to their original positions after the toner supply and the case 2 is hermetically closed. |
