PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure high contrast characteristics by using core-shell type silver halide particles whose cores and shells contain separate complexes of the same groups V-VIII metals contg. different ligands. SOLUTION: Core-shell type silver halide particles whose cores and shells contain separate complexes of the same groups V-VIII metals contg. different ligands are used. The groups V-VIII metals are preferably selected from Ru, Rh, Os, Ir and Re. The ligands are preferably selected from sexidentate ligands such as halogen, aquo, nitrosyl, thionitrosyl, cyano, thiocyano, azido, carbonyl, oxo or the like. Since the ligands bond tightly to the transition metals, the complexes can be incorporated into silver halide particles in a bonded state of ligands when forming the silver halide particles. |
