PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the video telephone set with excellent convenience where both video telephone communication and FAX communication are executed. SOLUTION: An image input section 7 receives image data and a voice input section 12 receives voice data respectively, the data are compression-coded, multiplexed by a system control section 2 and a line interface section 3 multiplexes the data with a control signal from a call control section 4. In the case of video telephone communication, a data channel is used respectively for the image data and the voice data usually. In the case of the arrival or transmission of a facsimile signal in the video telephone communication, the system control section 2 detects the arrival or transmission of a facsimile signal sets the use of one data channel for the multiplexed image and voice data and of the other data channel for FAX data. |
