PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication device which enables a user to easily recognize a positioning state in preparation for communication connection and its positioning method. SOLUTION: A transmissible range 42 is displayed on a screen 41 of the liquid crystal display of a digital camera, it is decided that transmission is ready when a through-image 200' of an opposite side device (digital camera 200) is positioned therein, and infrared-ray data transmission is performed. Figure (a) shows that the through image 200' of the digital camera 200 is not in the transmissible range 42 and the transmission can not be performed in this case. Figure (b) also shows that the entire through-image 200' is not in the transmissible range 41, so that the transmission can not yet be performed either. Figure (c) shows that the entire through-image 200' is in the transmissible range 41, so that the transmission can be performed. |
