PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a capacity of a down signal without increasing a speed of a termination circuit of the system while keeping interchangeability with a conventional subscriber system communication system in the case of building up the subscriber system communication system. SOLUTION: This optical communication method is used by the subscriber system optical communication system (PON system) where one station side device 14 and a plurality of subscriber optical terminals 15 are connected by a passive optical network 16, a down signal of each PON system that is time division multiplex processed for each bit or byte is sent in a down channel, a receiver side applies time division demultiplex processing to the signal for each bit or byte to recover the original down signal and applies termination processing to the signal. A signal of each PON system is applied to TDMA processing similarly to the case with a conventional PON system in an up channel. Furthermore, unitary incoming access control is conducted among a plurality of PON systems, and a large capacity of the subscriber system optical communication system is realized by multiplexing signals of the plurality of the PON systems. |
