A flat strut (10 has two narrow and two side surfaces, and a first end swivel mounted on the tractor, and a second end. The connection end (16) has connections (17) for connecting it to the appliance, and has detachable bolts at the second end. A spring (37) loaded locking pawl (34) fits into the truncated cone-shaped cavity (12) in a pocket (21) on the connecting end. A control (38,43) disengages the locking pawl from the cavity. The locking pawl has a locking surface (36) matching the outer casing surface of the cavity acting as locking surface (13). The connecting end consists of two parts (18,19) forming a chamber open on one side and holding the second end of the strut. The first part represents a basic body (18), and the second part forms a cover.
