SURFACE-MODIFIED FILLERS, PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE

The present invention discloses a surface-modified mineral filler obtainable by providing (A) a mixture of a mineral filler with water; (B) thoroughly mixing the mixture provided in step (A) with a water-based organosiloxane-containing composition containing an organosiloxane which is soluble in water and contains OH groups, at least one amino-functional group and optionally at least one other organo-functional group selected from alkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl, glycidyl ether alkyl, acryloxyalkyl and methacryloxyalkyl groups, wherein one of the amino-functional and other organo-functional groups is bonded to each silicon atom of the organosiloxane; (C) and drying the resulting mixture. Also disclosed is a process for its preparation and a polymer composition which comprises the surface-modified filler.
