The valve has a computer which opens the valve according to the engine operating state and a component (6) in which kinetic energy can be stored and which can be brought into interaction with a head (13) at the free end of the valve rod (9) after overcoming a force holding an intermediate pin (15) in a latching position. The components have a protrusion which acts on the head of a pin mounted between the protrusion and the head of the valve rod.
