The module (30) includes power conversion and regulation circuits (34-36) for providing power to analog and digital circuits, image sensor control circuits, document feed motor and a light source of document scanner respectively. A light source controller (37) provides safe and protected power signals to modulate illumination intensity of light source. The light source controller is controlled by a low power control circuit (31). The regulation circuits draw power from a safe and isolated power source (60) directly connected to a domestic main AC power line. The power source includes a power conversion and regulation unit to perform power factor correction and to reduce power distortion on the main AC power line. |
