SILICONE RUBBER-BASED PARTICLE-CONTAINING AQUEOUS EMULSION, AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone rubber-based aqueous emulsion having a small number average particle size and narrow particle size distribution and containing a little amount of emulsifier thus causing no problem of e.g. coloring resulted from the emulsifier. SOLUTION: This aqueous emulsion comprising polymer particles each consisting of (A) 0.1 to 45 wt.% of vinyl-based (co)polymer and (B) 55 to 99.9 wt.% of silicone rubber is provided with a number average particle size of the polymer particles of 0.008 to 0.1μm, a variation factor of particle size distribution of <=65% and the content of emulsifier of <=10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the silicone rubber. The emulsion is obtained by graft-polymerizing vinyl-based monomers in the presence of the polymer particles.
