<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality coupling and closure by making structurally simple components and constituting using minimal O-rings. SOLUTION: Main components of the storage system 20 include a blow- molded drum 22 having a fusion-joined sleeve 24, a down tube assembly 26, and a port attaching assembly 30. The port attaching assembly 30 is formed as a closure 34 whose shell portion contains ultraviolet inhibitor additive. Further, an O-ring seal face is positioned on an approximately vertical cylindrical side wall without groove provided. Therefore, a seal is formed while only the minimum load is applied to an O-ring in an axial direction or no load in the axial direction is applied, thereby forming the seal with a load applied approximately in a purely radial direction. Thus a service life of the seal is lengthened, and fastening of a retainer can be reduced.</p> |
