Each container (11) in each batch (10) has a collar (12) that extends outwards. The batches of containers are grouped using a flexible band (13). The flexible band passes above and below the batch to enclose it between opposing sides. The parts of the collars of each batch that are not in contact with the flexible band, and that are in line with the side wall (6) of the tray, protrude above the side wall and, in preference, are in contact with it.
