The instrument consists of two handles (3,4) with jaws (9,10) for tensioning a ligament (56) passed through the heads (53,54) of the pedicular screws (51,52). One of the jaws is tipped by a support (12) which applies a pressure to a pedicular screw head, while the other is tipped by a fastener (13) which grips and tensions the ligament when the two handles are pressed together.
