<p>A captive screw (10) attachable to an upper panel (60), for attaching the upper panel (60) to a lower surface (62), the lower surface (62) having a threaded hole, the capture screw (10) having a screw (20), a ferrule (50) that attaches to the upper panel (60), a thin-walled, cylindrical hollow knob (30) and protrusions (26) integral to the outer perimeter (25) of the head portion of the screw (20) to rigidly secure the perimeter of the head of the screw to the inner surface of the knob (30), the protrusions (26) providing a press-fit of the screw to the inner surface of the knob where the screw is pressed into the knob from the underside of the knob.</p> |
