<p>A vehicle monitoring and control system has a base station (8) having a radio transmitter and receiver. A plurality of motor vehicles (10) each have a radio transmitter and receiver tuned to communicate with the radio transmitter and receiver of the base station (8). Each vehicle has a central control system (12), a databank (16), audio and visual information indicators (24, 26), fuel and brake controlling mechanisms (22, 28) and vehicle performance monitors (18, 20). The central control system (12) responds to the base station to provide data from the databank (16) and the information indicators (24, 26). The system (12) is operable to control the fuel and brake controlling mechanisms (22, 28) both in response to the output of the performance monitors (18, 20) and in response to commands from the base station (8).</p> |
