The mounting component (2), through the intermediate positioning of an energy absorbing element (13) consisting of at least one individual component, is in communication with the vehicle's structure in such a way that the latter is loaded only by pressure in the region of the energy absorbing element. The mounting component is provided on a structural section in the form of a transverse support (4) extending at right angles to its longitudinal extent and upon this is fixed the energy absorbing element.
