Raised railway track construction method

The foundations in place for a girder (42) at one end of the track are extended so that they can support an adjacent girder (32) which is sufficiently strong to be able to carry material used to extend the track, but not strong enough to support the finished track. The end girder is then strengthened at a point away from the end of the track to make it strong enough to support the track. Independent claims are also included for (a) a similar construction method where the girder and its foundations are strengthened at two points distant from the end of the track, and (b) a railway track constructed by these methods.
