SOLID DISPERSION CONTAINING SIALIC ACID DERIVATIVE

A medicine which contains a sialic acid derivative represented by formula (I ) and is excellent in solubility and absorbability. It is a solid dispersion comprising a water-soluble polymer such as hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and dispersed therein a sialic acid derivative represented by formula (I) (where in R1 represents a residue of a steroid compound; R2 represents hydrogen or C1- 4 alkyl; R3 represents C1-15 alkyl, etc.; and X represents oxygen or sulfur) {e.g., 3.alpha.-[N-(5-acetamido-3,5-dideoxy-2-O-methyl-.alpha.-D-glycero-D- galacto-2-nonulopyranosonyl)amino]cholestane}.
