PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a generator. SOLUTION: When a required generated power exceeds the maximum output of the short-time rating of a generator 1, while a clutch 3 is connected, its exceeding power component is generated by a running motor 4. Moreover, when the required generated power exceeds the maximum output of the short- period rating of the generator 1 when the clutch 3 is connected, the gear ratio of a transmission 5 is lowered, while keeping the car speed constant. Furthermore, when the required generated power exceeds the maximum output of the short-period rating of the generator 1, while the clutch 3 is disconnected, the rotational speed of its engine 2 is increased. Consequently, to becomes possible to reduce the size of the generator 1, and to reduce its installation space and cost. |
