<p>A video replay store controller (150) is described, in which appropriate ones of a plurality of field stores (30) are selected for storing video data replayed from a digital video tape recorder (DVTR). The controller comprises a transition detecting means (170, 200) associated with each of a plurality of video replay heads (A, B, C, D), for detecting changes in field identifiers associated with consecutively replayed video data blocks received from that video replay head. Thereby a field transition in the data played back by the associated head is detected. Furthermore, a special reproduction mode (shuttle, slow-motion) can be distinguished. <IMAGE> <IMAGE></p> |
