摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate the picture data of arbitrary gray level and to freely adjust tint, color and bright by changing the state of aγcurve at the time of distributing picture data of m-bits to picture data of n-bits. SOLUTION: Aγcurve is set in the first to third memories 406, 408 and 410 of settings 1-3. When a user selects setting 1, a timing control circuit 404 reads the content of setting 1 in the first memory 406 and a primary conversion processing circuit 402 distributes picture data inputted by four bits to five bits based on it. A selected gradation level, namely, the distributed gradation level corresponds to the luminance rate of a display panel, and inputted picture data of four bits can be outputted to a liquid crystal panel as picture data of five bits corresponding to a ruled line mode. Thus, display corresponding to a natural picture mode can be executed.
