PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a highly accurate wide flange beam which is particularly excellent in the uniformity of flange thickness. SOLUTION: When measuring the flange thickness, sampling measurement is executed in the vertical direction of the flange with a hot dimension meter 10. The average value of the sampling data from the tip of the flange to just before the corner R of a fillet part is determined with a hot dimension meter arithmetic unit 110 and the average value is defined as the measured result of the flange thickness. The deviation of the measured result from the target size is calculated with a dimension control arithmetic unit 100 for size control and size control is executed.
