发明名称 METHOD FOR LIMITING OPTICAL INTENSITY AND LIMITER
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attenuate an abnormally high intensity light with precision without relying on wave length and polarized wave by arranging a liquid consisting of polar molecules between an optical output means and optical input means, making a light incident on the polar molecule liquid from the optical output means so as to scatter a part of it and receiving a part of the transmitted light by means of the optical input means. SOLUTION: The light enters from the optical fiber core 2b of an optical fiber 2 at an optical output side and the light is made incident on the polar molecule liquid 1a from an optical output surface 2c. Then, in the polar molecules distributed in its optical path 1c, light intensity is attenuated, a refractive index is changed, a part of the incident light is scattered and adopted as a scatter light 1e and an optical intensity density is attenuated. The light transmitted through the liquid 1a along the optical path 1c is inputted to the optical fiber core 3b from the optical input surface 3c of the optical fiber 3 at an optical input side and inputted to desired optical parts or an element. The intensity of the inputted light onto the optical input surface 3c is lower than that of the light outputted form the optical output surface 2c.
